When is the RSVP deadline?
Please let us know whether or not you will be attending by August 1, 2024. The sooner the better! RSVP here
What should I wear to the Welcome Drinks?
You can dress “smart casual” for the welcome drinks at Pacific Coast Grill. That could be a button-down or a nice shirt, a fun jumpsuit, or summer dress.
Will there be food at the Welcome Drinks?
Yes! We’ll be serving heavy appetizers. For most, that will be enough for dinner, but you may want to grab a light meal earlier in the afternoon.
What should I wear to the wedding?
Our wedding will be semi-formal, so please dress accordingly (think knee or ankle length dresses, bright colors, tie-optional.) Our ceremony will be held in a chapel, so please consider that in your outfit choice. If you need some examples, check here.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Our ceremony will be in a chapel, while the reception will be indoors and outdoors at the San Diego Botanic Gardens. September in San Diego is quite warm, but you may want an extra layer for the evening.
How will I get to and from the wedding venue?
We will provide a shuttle between the ceremony and the reception, however, we recommend booking a rideshare to get to the ceremony and home from the reception. Both the chapel and the reception venue have ample parking for those who would like to drive on their own.
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Our ceremony will start right at 2:30, so we recommend getting there before then so that you have time to find your seats.
I’ve never been to a Catholic wedding before, what should I expect?
Our ceremony will be a vow ceremony, rather than a full Catholic mass, so it will take about 45-60 minutes. It will consist of a few readings from the Bible read by some of our friends or family (Old Testament, New Testament, and Gospel), a homily (sermon) from the Deacon, followed by prayers and an exchanging of vows and rings. The ceremony will mostly be seated, with a few standing sections. You can join in on any songs or prayers you like, but are never obligated to.
Can I bring a plus one?
We ask that only people named on the invite attend, thank you for understanding!
Where should I stay?
Our wedding will be held in North County, San Diego. The ceremony will be in Carmel Valley, and the reception will be in Encinitas. Any of the towns in between would be great locations to stay (Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff, Encinitas). If you do not plan on renting a car, we suggest staying in one of the coastal towns, as they are a bit more walkable. Please feel free to reach out if you would like specific hotel suggestions or have additional questions.
Should I rent a car?
San Diego does not have a very good public transit system (terrible, actually) so you should rent a car or plan to use rideshare services if you’re visiting from out of town. Cities along Highway 101 tend to have great restaurants, coffee, shops, and activities within walking distance.
I’m arriving early, what should I do in San Diego?
We’ve put together a list of our San Diego favorites here!
Do you have a wedding registry?
Yes we do! Gifts are not necessary at all, but if you would like to give us a gift and need ideas, here is our registry.
